  • Baptism

    • "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
      Matthew 28:19

Baptism is the foundation of the Christian life. In Baptism we are freed from original sin, become heirs to the Kingdom of God, and receive the indwelling of the Holy Trinity.

    • Infant/Child Baptism

“Parents are obliged to see that their infants are baptized within the first few weeks.” (Code of Canon Law #867)

It is increasingly common to see the baptism of newborn infants delayed for weeks and even months in order to facilitate travel schedules of grandparents or godparents or to find a “convenient” time. This trend is contrary to Church law and diminishes the spiritual importance of baptism in favor of emphasizing the earthly celebration with family and friends. We encourage you to claim for your infant the dignity of a child of God in baptism at the earliest possible moment.
    • Adult Baptism

Learn more about how to join the Catholic Church through R.C.I.A. (the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) at Holy Family here!

    • Baptism at holy family

Arrangements for infant baptism must be made in advance:

      • Please call Liz Toenjes at 952-999-4891 or email Liz.Toenjes@hfcmn.org to schedule your child's baptism.
      • Baptisms are usually scheduled following the 11 AM Mass on Sunday or the 8 AM Mass on Saturday.  The date and time need to be confirmed with the church office.
      • If it is your first time, or if it has been over three years since you had a child baptized, the parish office will help you schedule a preliminary baptism meeting which must be completed at least one week prior to the baptism.

At least one week prior to the baptism, please provide:

      • A copy of your child's birth certificate
      • Both forms, below, completed (sent to) Holy Family Catholic Church, Attn: Liz Toenjes, 5900 West Lake Street, St. Louis Park, MN 55416 OR via email Liz.Toenjes@hfcmn.org:

which you will receive after you have set the date and confirmed with the Parish Office
                     2) Godparent Form (click on title)
completed by each godparent and signed by their Parsh Priest.
