Passiontide Musical Meditation:
Two Performances of "The Crucifixion" by Sir John Stainer
Sundays, March 29 and April 5, at 3pm
The combined choirs of Holy Family Catholic Church, with guest singers, will present the famous "Crucifixion" by Sir John Stainer. Written in 1887 by Stainer, who was then organist of St. Paul's Cathedral in London, this mini oratorio has been popular and performed the world over from the time of its writing.
Should you miss the performance at Holy Family (Sunday, March 29, 3 pm), our company of musicians is going "on the road" to give a repeat performance (Sunday, April 5, 3pm) at the magnificent Holy Cross Catholic Church, located at 1621 University Ave. NE Minneapolis.
The soloists are Nathan Romportl, tenor; Brian Hasse, bass; the organist is Samuel Backman; the conductor is Scott Turkington.
Admission is free; a wine and cheese reception will follow.
