Each year I challenge our students to use their free time over the summer to read more. I'd like to extend that invitation to our adults as well. God gave each of us a brain and wants us to use it! There was much enthusiasm during our capital campaign for the creation of a parish library. Generous people donated books and a very dedicated team organized and cataloged them. So, there's a good place to start finding books to read! We can learn about God through stories and not just theology textbooks.
This summer we are pleased to offer three presentations on great Christian novels. I intentionally chose books with which you may not be familiar. I assure you that they are well worth reading!
These novels are somewhat lengthy, so there will be only one book presentation per month. And if you are pressed for time, you can pick just one of the novels.
These will be Tuesday evening presentations (7-8:30 pm) designed to help the reader delve deeper into the rich faith content of these classic works of world literature.
So, start reading!
Mark your calendars:
July 12th: "Kristin Lavransdatter" by Sigrid Undset (presented by Dr. Mary Reichardt)
August 9th: "Don Quixote" by Miguel Cervantes (presented by John Niemann)
