The Tower Society is a parish-based group of lawyers and law students who meet monthly (September – May) for fellowship and mutual support and to discuss topics important to our intellectual and spiritual formation as Catholic legal professionals. Our gatherings usually feature a short talk followed by a robust discussion, and previous talks have been led by Tower Society members, judges, professors steeped in the Catholic intellectual tradition, and deacons and priests. We adopted the Tower society name for our group for two important reasons: (1) a tower built for observation and strength is generally a rallying point in beleaguered times, (2) it was while imprisoned in the Tower of London that St. Thomas More, the patron saint of lawyers, demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the law of God and doing the right thing despite the cost.
